This wallpaper shows an autumn lantern festival the way it actually looks after sunset — warm light spilling from silk lanterns, tree branches catching the glow, and a walkway leading visitors deeper into the display. It was shot at one of our outdoor festival installations in autumn, when the colour palette of the lanterns naturally shifts toward gold, amber and deep red to match the season. What makes this image work as a wallpaper is the composition. The foreground walkway leads the eye into the scene, the mid-ground lanterns provide the warm light source, and the background fades into darkness so the desktop icon bar stays readable. This is one of the few images in the collection that works equally well on a light-mode and a dark-mode desktop. The lanterns in this scene are the classic silk festival pieces — welded steel frames, hand-laid silk fabric, and the layered hand-painting that makes each one slightly unique. They are installed on steel ground anchors and wired through a central control panel, so the whole festival can be switched on or off from one point. Venues that run these displays seasonally store the modules flat between events and re-assemble them each year. Autumn is a particularly strong season for lantern festivals — cooler evenings make the light more visible, and the harvest-moon timing of Mid-Autumn gives venues a natural reason to open.
