The Story Behind This Wallpaper

This wallpaper features a **Sanxingdui bronze figure** — a lantern modelled on the famous bronze masks and standing figures unearthed at the Sanxingdui archaeological site in Sichuan. The original bronzes are over 3,000 years old, and their exaggerated proportions — the almond eyes, the tall headdresses, the elongated arms — translate naturally to a lantern figure. When built at festival scale and lit from within, the figure reads as both a cultural artifact and a contemporary lantern.

The Sanxingdui-inspired piece belongs to our cultural-heritage lantern line, the strand that documents regional Chinese art forms. The pose is typically frontal, the body upright, the arms held in the formal gesture that the original bronzes are known for. The construction uses a welded steel frame for the body and a separate silk sub-frame for the headdress, so the headdress can be scaled larger than the body to match the original bronze proportions.

This figure is the signature lantern for any venue with a Sichuan or ancient Chinese culture programme. Museums with Sanxingdui collections, city cultural centres in Sichuan and Chongqing, and Chinese cultural festivals all use the bronze figure lantern as the centrepiece of their cultural programme. The composition in this wallpaper shows the figure against the night sky, the silhouette clearly readable, the cultural reference instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with the original bronzes.

If you want the real piece, it is available in the 3-5 m range for indoor museums and 5-7 m for outdoor festivals. The headdress is fully customisable in shape and proportion. Factory-direct from Zigong, with installation supervision available worldwide.
