Thirteen lantern categories, each stocked with existing designs you can adapt rather than commission from a blank page. Browse by the theme your venue needs, or by the format your site can carry — every category page lists the finished pieces, their sizes, and what changes when you scale one up.

Thirteen Lantern Categories
Pick the category that matches your venue type, the season, or the theme your audience expects. Sizes and poses within each category are adjustable — the pieces are starting points, not fixed SKUs.
How the Range Is Organised
The categories sit on two axes, and most buyers use both. One axis is subject: animals, cultural figures, flowers, film and licensed characters, festival scenes. The other is format: giant landmark pieces, floating and waterside builds, ice and snow sets, garden installations, light sculptures, traditional silk lanterns, and full festival packages that bundle a routed trail under one contract.
A zoo night trail usually pulls from Animal Lanterns plus Giant & Large-Scale for its climax pieces. A shopping mall atrium works better with Cultural Lanterns and Flower Lanterns at human scale. A city waterfront is a Floating & Water brief with a landmark gate. Reading the two axes together is faster than scrolling a single flat product list.
Choosing Between Categories
Four questions narrow it down faster than browsing:
- How much space, and how tall can it go? Pieces above roughly 8 m need engineering drawings and a base plan before anything is quoted. Giant & Large-Scale covers that ground.
- Is there water on site? Floating pieces need anchoring, ballast and an anchoring plan that suits the bed and the water-level range — a different brief from a dry-install lantern.
- Which season are you selling? Winter and snow programmes want Ice & Snow plus Holiday & Seasonal; spring and summer lean to Flower and Animal.
- One feature or a whole trail? A single centrepiece is a product brief. A routed trail with zones, gates and a narrative is a Festival Package.
If the brief crosses two categories, that is normal. Mixed programmes are quoted more often than single-category ones, and one installation team covers the whole site.
What Each Category Page Gives You
Every category page carries the same information, so you can compare across categories without re-learning the layout:
- The finished pieces in that category, with size and intended setting
- Construction notes — weatherproof internal frame, high-density fabric covering, hand-painted multi-layer finish
- Lighting approach — sealed outdoor-rated LED modules, static or programmable, DMX512 where the show needs cues
- What changes at scale: frame sections, container packing, base engineering
- Installation drawings and a lighting layout supplied with the order
From Category to Delivered Display
Choosing a category is the first step, not the last. The path from there runs the same way for every programme: agree the direction and the site constraints, receive a proposal with drawings, approve shop drawings, fabrication, a lit test in the workshop before packing, then shipping, on-site installation and handover to your operations team.
If you are still at the stage of choosing a venue rather than a product, the planning guides at the bottom of this page cover routing, budget structure and installation sequencing in more detail.
