This wallpaper shows a zoo at night transformed by lantern displays — animal lanterns clustered along the paths, the walkway glowing, and the trees wrapped in light. It is the scene that zoos aim for when they run a zoo lights event: the familiar daytime animal attraction becomes a completely different experience after dark. Zoo lights events are one of the fastest-growing seasonal attractions in the industry. They extend the zoo’s operating season, add an evening revenue stream, and give the animals a night-time ambience that visitors photograph and share. The FestiveLanterns role in these events is to supply the animal lanterns that populate the paths — everything from a single giraffe lantern at a junction to a full safari scene with multiple species. The lanterns in a zoo lights installation follow the same construction as our festival pieces — steel frames, silk skins, hand-painted detail, internal LED — but the species selection is tailored to the zoo’s own animal collection. This matters for guests: a zoo’s visitors recognise their own animals, and a gorilla lantern in the gorilla section carries more meaning than the same figure in a generic festival. Venues run zoo lights from late autumn through the winter season, or as a summer evening attraction in warmer climates. The lanterns are stored between seasons and re-installed each year, with new figures added to keep the route fresh.
