What Are Animatronic Animals?

Animatronic animals are life-size robotic animal replicas with articulated movement — head tilting, ear twitching, eye blinking, jaw motion, breathing simulation, and natural vocalisations. They are built for zoos, natural history museums, theme parks, aquariums, shopping malls, and cultural venues that want to add moving, lifelike wildlife to their spaces.

The difference between an animatronic animal and a static animal sculpture is movement and behaviour. A static fibreglass tiger can be photographed. An animatronic tiger turns its head to follow visitors, blinks, and emits a low growl — creating an encounter that feels alive.
