Giant Gift Box Lantern Kiosk — Illuminated Retail Pavilion

At any festival, the most expensive thing on site is not the lantern — it is the ground it stands on. This gift box gives that square metre two jobs instead of one. Built with the same craft as our festival lanterns, it is a working retail kiosk: staff step inside, the shutter lifts, and the merchandise sells, all inside a giant illuminated gift box that lights up the route after dark.

The version shown was produced for a pop-culture IP brand. Wrapped in candy-coloured blossom lanterns with a light-bulb ribbon crowning the lid, it drew the same crowd behaviour as the biggest lantern sets — people stopped, queued and photographed it — but it also ran a till. Dozens of these kiosks now operate across the festival, and they are consistently the hardest commercial space to book on site.

Two forms, one structure. In daylight the box is a friendly, photogenic sculpture guests pose beside. At night the whole shell lights from within, turning the kiosk into a beacon that pulls visitors down the route and back to the counter. Nothing else in the venue earns its footprint twice over.

Is this a real working kiosk or just decoration?

A real one. Staff work inside, the service opening lifts for trading, and the interior is fitted with counter, shelving, lighting and power — it is a functioning retail unit that also happens to be a lantern.

Can staff stay inside comfortably all day?

Yes. Walk-in models are planned with interior lighting, ventilation provision and air-conditioning prep, plus dedicated power circuits for registers and equipment.

What can it sell?

Anything a compact retail unit handles: festival merchandise, souvenirs, packaged food and beverage, tickets, or product samples for a brand campaign.

Does it need a permanent foundation?

Generally no. The kiosk sits on a ballasted base suitable for most plazas, trails and mall floors; anchors are only specified for exposed or high-wind sites.

Can the shape be something other than a gift box?

Yes. The gift box is one skin on the same structure — gacha capsules, treasure chests, castle turrets, product packaging and character-shaped shells have all been built on it.

Can it carry our brand artwork and licensed characters?

Yes. Shell panels, ribbon and lid are finished to your artwork. Our usual basis is that the client holds the licensing rights for the campaign; we manufacture to approved designs and are glad to sign NDAs.

How does it ship and install?

As numbered modules in standard containers, reassembled on site in days. Our crew installs or supervises, and the interior fit-out is delivered ready to trade.
