A Santa figure is familiar on its own. What changes how visitors behave around this piece is the oversized gift bag — it adds a second focal point at low level, and low level is where photographs actually get taken.

• Low focal point — the bag sits between adult shoulder height and child eye level, so groups frame themselves beside it instead of only in front of the figure.
• A natural meeting anchor — in shopping centres the bag becomes the point visitors name when they agree where to regroup. Place it where two circulation routes cross.
• A flat, brandable surface — the bag face is an uninterrupted panel. Many venues letter it with the centre name, a seasonal greeting, or a sponsor line, set in the same illuminated finish as the rest of the piece so it reads at night the way it reads in daylight.
• Framing distance — leave 4–6 m of clear floor in front of the bag. Much closer and a phone camera cannot hold both the bag and a family group in one frame.
