A sleigh that looks airborne rather than parked: Santa seated with gifts, a two-reindeer team running ahead of him, and light trails tapering away behind the runners. The piece is designed to be flown above the entrance line, not set down on the ground.

Height is the design decision everything else follows from. Mounted overhead, the team reads as pulling forward; the same figures at floor level read as a static display. Tell us your mounting height first and the composition is built around it.

Composing the Sleigh as an Overhead Delivery Scene

A sleigh standing on the ground reads as a parked object. The same sleigh mounted above head height reads as flight — and that difference is the whole point of this piece.

  • Height carries the story — mount the sleigh so the runners clear the top of the entrance or the first-floor line. Seen from below, the reindeer team reads as pulling forward; at ground level the same figures read as standing still.
  • Team spacing — keep roughly 1.5–2 m between the sleigh and the first reindeer, and let the team run ahead of the sleigh rather than level with it. That gap is what suggests the pull.
  • Light trails — run the flying trails behind the team as a tapering line. A tapering line reads as speed; an even line reads as decoration.
  • Facade framing — on a building, set the sleigh across the facade with the team pointing toward the entrance, so the eye follows the reindeer down to the door.

Pairing the Sleigh with an Entrance Route

  • Start or end of a walk — where visitors arrive under an archway, mount the sleigh overhead near the far end so the “arrival” moment lands after the approach rather than before it.
  • Plaza centrepiece — free-standing, raise the whole assembly on a low base with the team facing the main approach. The base also keeps ground-level snowflake motifs below the sleigh line instead of crowding it.
  • Window display — mounted behind glass, angle the piece so the team is seen in profile. Profile silhouettes survive reflections far better than figures seen head-on.
  • Route sequencing — a delivery scene works as the second stop after an entrance arch, so visitors meet the characters before they meet the destination.

Why Operators Mount It Overhead

  • No floor space taken — the whole scene sits above the walkway, so it adds a landmark without narrowing the route below it.
  • Reads from further away — a raised silhouette against the sky is visible from the far end of a plaza, where a ground-level piece would be hidden behind people.
  • Works with what you already have — the team, trail length and colours are all set per order, so the piece can be sized to a facade you already own.
  • Approval on your own elevation — you see the sleigh drawn onto your building or plaza before production begins.
  • Assembly drawings or our crew — the kit ships labelled, and installation can be handled by us or supervised for your team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who manufactures this product and where is it made?
This product is manufactured by FestiveLanterns (Zigong Huilongtang Culture & Art Co., Ltd.) at our 60,000m² factory in Zigong, Sichuan Province, China. Zigong is known worldwide as the "Lantern Capital of China" with over 800 years of lantern-making heritage. We are a Zigong-based manufacturer, not a trading company or reseller, which means better quality control, transparent pricing, and direct communication with the artisans who build your order.
Can this product be customized in size, color, or design?
Yes - full customization is our standard. We can adjust dimensions from small tabletop versions (under 1 meter) to monumental installations exceeding 30 meters in height or length. Color schemes, patterns, LED lighting effects, and design details can all be tailored to match your event theme, brand colors, or venue requirements. Send us your concept or reference images and we will provide a free 3D design proposal.
Is it suitable for outdoor installation in all weather conditions?
Yes. All our outdoor products are rated outdoor-rated as standard, with outdoor-rated upgrades available for ground-contact or prolonged exposure installations. The internal frames use corrosion protection, the hand-painted coverings are treated for UV and moisture resistance, and LED systems are commercial-grade with redundant circuits. Our products have been operating in Canadian winters (-25°C), Middle Eastern desert heat (50°C+), tropical humidity, and European alpine conditions across 50+ countries.
What mounting height does it need?
Enough clearance for the runners to sit above the entrance line — typically clear of head height plus your signboard. Send us a photo of the elevation and we will mark the mounting point on it.
Can the team be longer than two reindeer?
Yes. The team is built per order, and longer teams need more horizontal run, so we set the spacing from the length of facade or plaza edge you have available.
How is an overhead piece secured?
The mounting method is chosen from your structure — wall, soffit, or free-standing frame — and the fixing detail is confirmed before fabrication so your contractor can review it.
Can it be used indoors in a window?
Yes. Window versions are set at a smaller scale with the team angled in profile, which holds up better against glass reflections than a head-on view.
What is the lead time?
Standard production is 6–10 weeks depending on size and the order queue at the time, with the schedule confirmed when you approve the design.
